Early Years Pupil Premium

The Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is extra money the government pays to your child’s nursery to support their learning, development and care. It is paid to the nursery, not to you. It does not change your funded hours and does not affect any benefits you get.

Little Learners Nurseries asks parents to complete the EYPP section of the nursery start pack. We use it to check whether your child is eligible, using the criteria below, and claim the funding for them.

Children aged 9 months to 4 years who use funded hours can get EYPP if their parent or carer gets one or more of these:

• Universal Credit, with a household income under £7,400 a year after tax, not counting any benefits
• Income Support
• Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit

A child can also get EYPP if they:

• are currently looked after by a local authority in England or Wales
• have left care in England or Wales through adoption
• have left care through a special guardianship order or a child arrangements order (formerly known as a residence order)

If your child gets Disability Living Allowance and uses funded hours, the nursery can also apply for the Disability Access Fund for them. Ask us and we will do this for you.
