What does an Ofsted rating mean?
Ofsted (the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills) is the independent regulator for early years childcare in England. Every registered nursery is inspected and given an overall effectiveness rating, plus separate judgements covering the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management. Ratings run from Outstanding, through Good, to Requires Improvement or Inadequate.
