Questions parents ask
The honest answers to what we get asked most, about our four nurseries, funding, and how we work.
Common questions
Which of your nurseries is nearest to me?
We have four Ofsted-registered nurseries: Church Street and Florence Hayes in Edmonton, and Ordnance Unity Centre and St Hellier in Enfield. Visit our Nurseries page to compare all four, or check your local area page if you're in Ponders End, Bush Hill Park, Southbury, Silver Street, Angel Edmonton, Brimsdown, Enfield Highway or Freezywater.
Are all your nurseries Ofsted registered?
Yes. Each of our four nurseries is separately registered with Ofsted and each one's most recent inspection rated it Good, including every individual judgement area. You can read each nursery's full report from its own page.
What funding can I use?
It depends on your child's age and your circumstances. Every 3 and 4 year old gets 15 funded hours a week. Working parents can get 30 funded hours a week from when their child is 9 months old until they start school. 2 year olds can get 15 funded hours a week if the family gets certain benefits or support. You can also use the Early Years Pupil Premium and Tax-Free Childcare at any of our nurseries. In Enfield the funded hours for 2 year olds are called Terrific Two's. Our Funding page explains each one.
Do I need to apply for the 15 hours for 3 and 4 year olds?
No. Every 3 and 4 year old in England can have 15 funded hours a week from the term after they turn 3, and we claim it for you. You only need to apply if you also want the extra hours for working parents.
How do I apply for 30 hours or Tax-Free Childcare?
Both use the same online childcare account on GOV.UK, and one application checks whether you can get both. If you can get 30 hours you will be given an 11-digit code. Bring it to your preferred Little Learners nursery and we will verify it with the Local Authority.
What if I live outside Enfield?
You're welcome to apply. For Terrific Two's specifically, apply through your own local authority rather than Enfield's Informed Families service, and bring your proof of eligibility to us.
How do I keep up with my child's day?
We use Tapestry, an online learning journal. Staff record your child's learning and development through text, photos and video, shared with you online as it happens. When your child leaves us, you receive a full PDF copy as a keepsake.
What are your fees?
Fees depend on the nursery, session pattern and any funded hours you're using. Contact your nearest nursery directly and we'll talk you through current fees for your child's age and the days you need.
How do I apply to work at Little Learners?
Email your CV to info@littlelearnersnurseries.co.uk. See our Recruitment page for the skills and experience we look for.
